Subject Numbers Regarding Health Provider Authorizations
Authorization No. 163273-6W
March 17, 2017
Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d(4), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board has exercised his authority to temporarily suspend Dr. Kevin Harrison’s authorization to treat injured workers within the New York State workers’ compensation system effective March 13, 2017. Dr. Harrison's last known business address is 12 Raynham Road, Glen Cove, New York 11542.
The Chair’s designee’s investigation has revealed that the New York State Department of Health, State Board for Professional Medical Conduct (BPMC) has issued a Notice of Hearing with attached Statement of Charges, including that on November 25, 2014 Dr. Harrison pled guilty to the misdemeanor of aggravated driving while intoxicated in violation of N.Y. Vehicle and Traffic Law §1192-2(a), and that on January 12, 2015 he submitted a Registration Renewal for his New York medical license on which he answered “No” to the question, “Since your last registration application, have you been found guilty after trial, or pleaded guilty, no contest, or nolo contender to a crime (felony or misdemeanor) in any Court?” despite the aforementioned conviction.
Therefore, the Chair believes that Dr. Harrison may be guilty of misconduct, and that such misconduct would detrimentally affect the quality of care provided to injured workers.
Dr. Harrison is prohibited from rendering treatment and care to injured workers while his authorization is temporarily suspended. Reports submitted by Dr. Harrison for services rendered prior to March 13, 2017 are valid, but are invalid for any services rendered on or after that date. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Harrison for services rendered prior to March 13, 2017, should not be denied due to the suspension of his authorization.
This suspension remains in effect until further notice. Any questions regarding the authorized lists should be referred to the Medical Director’s Office at 1 (800) 781-2362.
