Please be advised that, effective February 12, 2009, Gerardo Yanayaco's authorization to treat workers' compensation claimants was temporarily suspended for one year pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d [4]. Effective September 30, 2008, by Summary Order of the State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Yanayaco was prohibited from the practice of medicine in the State of New York or in any jurisdiction where the practice of medicine is predicated on a valid New York State medical license. Dr. Yanayaco's last known address is 40-37 81st Street, Elmhurst, New York 11373. The suspension remains effective until February 11, 2010, or until the summary prohibition is lifted, whichever is later.

Based on the summary prohibition from the practice of medicine and while the temporary suspension is in effect, Dr. Yanayaco is prohibited from rendering medical treatment and care to individuals who have suffered work-related injuries or illnesses. Medical reports submitted by Dr. Yanayaco for treatment rendered prior to September 30, 2008, are valid, but are invalid for any treatment rendered on or after that date. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Yanayaco regarding treatment he rendered prior to September 30, 2008, should not be denied due to the summary prohibition or this suspension.
