Subject Numbers Regarding Health Provider Authorizations

Authorization No. 247175-3B

May 16, 2023

Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d(4), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board has exercised her authority to temporarily suspend Dr. David A. Greuner's authorizations to treat injured workers and perform independent medical examinations within the New York State workers' compensation system effective May 7, 2023. Dr. Greuner's last known business addresses are:

NYC Surgical Associates
14 E. 60th Street, Suite 501
New York, New York 10022

1062 Northern Boulevard
Roslyn, New York 11576

The Chair's designee's investigation has revealed that the New York State Department of Health, State Board for Professional Medical Conduct (BPMC) has issued Interim Order of Conditions # 23-079, wherein Dr. Greuner is precluded from practicing medicine in New York State or in any setting or jurisdiction where his practice is predicated upon his New York State medical license, pending a determination by the Director of the Office of Professional Medical Conduct that no hearing is warranted, resolution by consent order of the matters under investigation, or issuance of a Hearing Committee's Determination and Order.

Therefore, the Chair believes that Dr. Greuner may be guilty of misconduct, and that such misconduct would detrimentally affect the quality of care provided to injured workers.

Dr. Greuner is prohibited from rendering treatment and care to injured workers, from performing independent medical examinations, and from conducting reviews of records regarding variance requests pursuant to 12 NYCRR § 324.3(b)(2)(ii)(a), while his authorizations are temporarily suspended. Reports submitted by Dr. Greuner for services rendered prior to May 7, 2023, are valid but are invalid for any services rendered on or after that date. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Greuner for services rendered prior to May 7, 2023, should not be denied due to the suspension of his authorizations.

This suspension remains in effect until further notice. Any questions regarding the authorized lists should be referred to the Medical Director's Office at 1 (800) 781-2362.
