Subject Numbers Regarding Health Provider Authorizations

Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law ("WCL") Section 13-d(4), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board ("Chair") had exercised her authority to temporarily suspend Dr. Manish Mammen's authorization to treat injured workers in the New York State workers' compensation system effective March 25, 2021 (Subject Number 046-1390).

The temporary suspension was based on the Chair's designee's investigation, which revealed that Dr. Mammen had failed and refused to respond to correspondence served on him by the Workers' Compensation Board, in violation of WCL §13-d(2)(f).

Upon receipt of an appropriate response from Dr. Mammen, the Chair has rescinded the temporary suspension of Dr. Mammen and has reinstated his authority to treat injured workers effective May 19, 2021. The Medical Director's Office will restore Dr. Mammen to the list of providers authorized to treat injured workers as of May 19, 2021.
