Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d(5), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board has exercised her authority to revoke Dr. Thomas Vincent Savino’s authorization to treat injured workers within the New York State workers’ compensation system effective November 1, 2017. Dr. Savino's last known business address is:

Investigation had revealed that on December 20, 2016, Dr. Savino was indicted by a federal grand jury in Newark, New Jersey, with one count of conspiring to commit violations of the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Federal Travel Act, and wire fraud; three substantive violations of the Anti-Kickback Statute; three substantive violations of the Federal Travel Act; and three substantive violations of wire fraud, for allegedly receiving at least $25,000.00 in cash bribes from Biodiagnostic Laboratory Services LLC (BLS) in exchange for test referrals.

Dr. Savino had his authorization to treat injured workers temporarily suspended by the Board on January 13, 2017.

Subsequent investigation has revealed that on or about October 25, 2017, Dr. Savino was convicted of ten (10) counts of conspiring to commit violations of the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Federal Travel Act, and wire fraud.

Dr. Savino is prohibited from rendering treatment and care to injured workers. Reports submitted by Dr. Savino for services rendered prior to January 13, 2017 are valid, but are invalid for any services rendered on or after that date. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Savino for services rendered prior to January 13, 2017 should not be denied due to the temporary suspension and subsequent revocation of his authorization.
