Subject Number 046-1549 Reinstatement of Dr. Valentino D. Abballe

Subject Numbers Regarding Health Provider Authorizations

Authorization No. 288305-6W

September 12, 2022

Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d(4), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board ("Chair") had exercised her authority to temporarily suspend Dr. Valentino D. Abballe's authorization to treat injured workers in the New York State workers' compensation system effective September 4, 2022 (Subject Number 046-1547).

The temporary suspension was based on the Chair's designee's investigation, which revealed that, despite multiple written requests, Dr. Abballe had failed and refused to provide the Board with proof of reimbursement of the sum of $762.48 to an injured worker's private health insurer, which sum having also been paid to Dr. Abballe by the injured worker's workers' compensation insurer for the same treatment.

Upon receipt of proof of reimbursement, the Chair has rescinded the temporary suspension of Dr. Abballe, and has reinstated his authority to treat injured workers effective September 8, 2022. The Medical Director's Office will restore Dr. Abballe to the list of providers authorized to treat injured workers as of September 8, 2022.

Any questions regarding the authorized lists should be referred to the Medical Director's Office at 1 (800) 781-2362.
